COVID-19 IN EVERGREEN ===> ((( NEW )))

Data is copied  from the JEFFCO Public health department (https://www.jeffco.us/4007/COVID-19-Case-Summary) Select the “geographic” format and place your courser within the Evergreen boundary to display the data value.

As of 11/29/21  JCPH has reduced the frequency of reporting to Thursday of each week.

As of 9/22/22  JCPH has reduced the frequency of reporting to Thursday of every other week.

As of 11/29/22  JCPH has reduced the frequency of reporting to first Thursday of each month.

The first graph below shows the cumulative number of cases for The closely geographically spaced mountain communities of Evergreen, Genesee, Kittredge, Indian Hills. and Idledale.  All of these communities are CDPs (Census Designated Places) with no local governments. JEFFCO department of Health updates the number of cumulative cases for each geographic area every Monday. Evergreen Safety Watch incorporates these updates into the graph below to further inform residents of these closely spaced mountain communities.

A steep curve indicates the occurrence of rapid infections over a short time, while a more horizontal or level line indicates few or no increases of infections over time. As of 2/2/23 the case counts are :

Evergreen (2063), Genesee(752), Kittredge (246), Indian Hills (292), Idledale (66), Total (3419).

The data and an increasingly steep curve show an increase of 1950 infections in Evergreen since the  2021 Labor Day holiday, and 117 since the  2022 Labor Day holiday. Something to ponder. It appears that infections in Evergreen are slightly  increasing. Time to double down on preventative measures and acquire the vaccine.

The graph below will no longer be updated. It represents a data set that has been available from the JEFFCO department of Public Health for the last several weeks. That data set and therefore the graph is somewhat speculative because it contains counts of “confirmed and probable” cases a

long with suspected cases (Total Cases = Confirmed + Probable + Suspected).

JEFFCO Public Health is now providing a more accurate reporting of COVID-19 infection status in geographic areas of the county by counting only “confirmed and probable” cases in each geographic area (Total Cases = Confirmed + Probable). The number, as before is a cumulative count of cases at a given date.

The purpose of both graphs is to display a collection of data values over time. If the cumulative number of cases continues to increase over time, the graph will show a rising collection of values (represented by bar columns) indicating that people in Evergreen are continuing to become infected and that existing methods of protection are insufficient.

It is clear from witnessing the spread of the virus that the people of Evergreen cannot prevent the importation of the virus into the Evergreen geographic area. Therefore, the only possible strategy is self defense (MWDI).

Mask yourself, Wash yourself, Distance yourself, Isolate yourself

On the brighter side, if the number of cumulative cases does not change over time, then the bar columns will remain the same size over time, indicating that the methods of self protection being employed by the people of Evergreen, in or outside of Evergreen, are working to prevent infection.

OBSERVATIONS

There were gradual increases of 1 to 2 cases during the “STAY AT HOME” order. After the transition to the “SAFER AT HOME” order more dramatic case increases have occurred.

The below graph documents the past and has been terminated.
